Ne parlez pas anglais: Don't Speak English

I've been on a quest to speak the language of my teenage students.  Not the day to day lingo/slang.  I don't even try.  What I'm attempting to do, at the age of 40, is to become a digital, techie, texting type of gal.  (Still don't get why people text.  Eh bien!) I'm starting a blog for students this year in the hopes that they'll write more in the language and spend a little more time listening to French at home through hip video and audio clips.  I'm even dipping my toe in the water of podcasting.

As I was on the prowl for fun videos for my students, I found this one.  It isn't quite appropriate for them, but you might have a laugh.  Ne parlez pas anglais.  Enjoy!

Bonjour Diane!

I'm in Montréal living in French for a couple of days... I watched the video, it's so funny! Même s'il n'y a pas de corrélation entre "parler l'anglais" et les infarctus... I'd rather think that "processed food" is responsible for most heart diseases in North America!

Another fun and original post of yours!

I missed the "isn't quite appropriate" part the first time I read your post, and after watching the video, I thought: Wow, they're really liberal where she teaches. hehe

Merci pour les reponses, Roy, Lyne et Eponine!

It's nice that my little find didn't go to waste. I'll try to keep the blog rated PG and not post every inappropriate French video I come across. (There's a lot.) This one was just too funny not to share.

I received this email in response to my "why do people text?" question:

"We moved to Paris 4 days ago, and are setting up our mobile phones. Unlike in the US, voice calling is VERY expensive--$75 a month buys you 1 or 2 hours of talk time. But texting is unlimited. Voila!"

$75 for 1-2 hours??? Yowza! My thumbs would figure out texting--and fast!
